Spring/Summer Time at Mad River Garden Center
Spring
time is a very busy time at the Mad River Garden
Center. Our staff is busy in the greenhouses
planting starter plants. By mid April our locally
grown perennials are ready to go.
Now is a good time to get a jump start on your spring
and summer gardening projects. The MRGC has grow
lights and heat pads, as well as a nice selection
of organic biodegradable/eco pots and seed trays
to start your seedlings in as well as a fabulous
selection of vegetable, herbs and flower seeds.
Ask about our all organic starting mixes as well.
In
the garden center we have a wonderful selection
of early blooming potted plants just in time for
Easter and Mother's Day. You'll find blooming hyacinths,
mini daffodils, jonquils, and tulips. These lovely
early blooming potted plants make lovely Gifts and
are also a great way to get your spring fix by adding
a touch of spring color to your home.
May 1st the greenhouses open to the public. In them
you will find a variety of vegetable starters, herbs,
geraniums in a beautiful array of colors, ground
cover plants, shade plants, draught tolerant plants,
high heat/direct sun plants and much more. All have
been hand selected from local growers to ensure
they will thrive in our climate. Along with the
fabulous bedding plants we have a nice selection
of lush hanging baskets to choose from. Now is a
great time to have us create your custom hanging
baskets.
Our
landscaping department
is busy getting ready for a busy season. Our experienced
and helpful staff is always on hand to help you
design and and even install your perennial beds,
rock gardens, flower boxes and potted gardens. MRGC
also enjoys working on larger scale landscaping
projects. With 2 skid steers and our mini excavator/loader
we are able to help move and set boulders, do light
logging and forestry management, tree and shrub
removal and planting, as well as help build stone
patios and walkways, retaining and rock walls. What
ever the project we have the equipment and the experience
to get the job done.
The Mad River
Property Management crew are starting the switch
from winter cleanup to spring home care. Brush clearing,
lawn and garden bed cleanup among other property
care. In the summer they're busy installing rock
gardens, designing and planting garden beds as well
as other landscaping functions.
